A faith community planted in northeast Edmonton, rooted in Scripture, and shaped by grace.
Centrepointe Christian Reformed Church is a congregation in northeast Edmonton, Alberta — a community of people who have been drawn together by a shared faith in Jesus Christ and a shared love for the city we call home.
We are part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), a denomination that traces its roots to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century and the Dutch Reformed tradition of the 19th century. This heritage gives us a rich theological foundation — a deep commitment to the authority of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, and the call to live faithfully in every area of life.
But we are also, at heart, a local congregation — a group of families, individuals, and people at every stage of life who are trying to follow Jesus together in one of Edmonton's growing northeast communities.
The story of Centrepointe begins with a group of committed believers who saw the potential of northeast Edmonton as a place for a growing, Gospel-centred congregation. As Edmonton expanded northward and new communities developed along the 159 Avenue corridor, the need for a local church that could serve these families and neighbours became clear.
The congregation at Centrepointe was established to meet that need — to be a spiritual home for people in this part of the city. Over the years, the church has grown through the faithful commitment of its members, through new families finding a church home, and through the patient, steady work of pastoral leadership grounded in Reformed theology.
Today, Centrepointe continues to grow as a multigenerational congregation — with children, youth, young adults, families, and seniors all finding a place to belong and to grow in faith together.
Centrepointe is not a standalone congregation — we are part of a global family of Reformed churches committed to the same Gospel.
The CRCNA is a denomination of approximately 1,000 congregations across Canada and the United States. It is rooted in the Dutch Reformed tradition and is committed to the authority of Scripture and the Reformed confessions. The denomination has a strong emphasis on Christian education, world missions, and mercy ministry.
As a CRC congregation, Centrepointe affirms the Three Forms of Unity — the Belgic Confession (1561), the Heidelberg Catechism (1563), and the Canons of Dort (1619) — as faithful summaries of what the Bible teaches. These confessions have been tested and refined over centuries and provide a solid foundation for teaching and community life.
Reformed Christianity has always insisted that faith is not private or merely personal — it transforms how we think about work, family, education, justice, and culture. At Centrepointe, we try to take seriously what it means to follow Jesus not just in church on Sunday but in every area of daily life in Edmonton.
Whether you have been part of a church your whole life or have never attended a service before, Centrepointe is a place where you are welcome to come, ask questions, and belong.
We are not a perfect community — we are a community of people who know they need grace and who are trying to extend that same grace to everyone around them. We believe that the church is strongest when it is honest about its struggles and open to those who are searching.
If you are curious about faith, considering your first visit, or looking for a church home in northeast Edmonton, we would love to meet you. Come as you are — we mean that sincerely.
