The convictions that shape everything we do as a faith community in Edmonton.
The mission of Centrepointe Christian Reformed Church is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ with clarity and conviction, to nurture disciples of all ages in the full range of Reformed faith and life, and to extend God's love to our neighbours throughout Edmonton and beyond.
We believe the church exists not for itself but for the world — sent into every neighbourhood, every relationship, and every sphere of life to bear witness to the coming Kingdom of God. Our congregation is called to be a community where Scripture is faithfully opened, lives are genuinely transformed, and every person who walks through our doors is welcomed with dignity, warmth, and grace.
At Centrepointe, this mission shapes our Sunday worship, our weekday programs, our pastoral care, and our engagement with the broader Edmonton community. Everything flows from the conviction that the Gospel changes everything — and that every person matters to God.
We envision Centrepointe as a congregation that is continually growing in spiritual maturity — people who know God's Word deeply, pray with confidence, and live faithfully in every area of life.
We envision a church that is deeply rooted in the Reformed tradition — not as a museum piece, but as a living theological heritage that equips God's people to think clearly, worship wholeheartedly, and act justly in a complex world.
And we envision a church that is genuinely engaged with northeast Edmonton — one that is known for its love, respected for its integrity, and trusted for its service. We aspire to be the kind of church where someone who has never stepped inside a church feels they can take their first step, and where a seasoned believer can continue to grow for decades.
These values are not aspirations — they are the commitments we return to again and again as we make decisions, plan programs, and build community.
We hold the Bible as the inspired, authoritative Word of God — the ultimate guide for faith, life, worship, and community. Every program and decision is tested against it.
We are a people shaped by the unearned, undeserved grace of God in Jesus Christ. This grace makes us humble, generous, and slow to judge — in our congregation and toward our neighbours.
Faith was never meant to be lived alone. We are committed to genuine, caring community where people are truly known, supported in difficulty, and celebrated in joy.
Following Jesus is a lifelong journey of learning, repentance, and growth. We invest in teaching, mentorship, and spiritual formation at every stage of life.
Every person who comes to Centrepointe should feel genuinely welcomed — regardless of where they are in their faith journey, their background, or their family situation.
We are called to serve — our congregation, our neighbourhood, and our city. Service is not an optional extra but a core expression of who we are as followers of Jesus.
Centrepointe is part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), a denomination that affirms the historic Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed — and further shaped by the Three Forms of Unity: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.
We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the full humanity and full divinity of Jesus Christ, in his atoning death and bodily resurrection, and in his return to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the renewing work of the Holy Spirit, who gives life to the church and calls people to faith.
We believe the local church — a gathered community of believers — is God's chosen instrument for making disciples, caring for one another, and bearing witness to the world. This conviction is why we invest so deeply in the life of our congregation at 5940 159 Ave NW in Edmonton.
