Our Community

A place where you are known, valued, and surrounded by people who are walking the same path.

A Place to Belong

Christian community is one of the most powerful gifts God gives to his people. At Centrepointe, we take this seriously — not as a program or a strategy, but as a core part of what it means to be the church.

We are a congregation where people genuinely know each other's names and stories. Where you can show up on a hard week and find people who care. Where children grow up alongside other families who share the same values. Where older members and younger ones find genuine friendship across the generations.

This kind of community does not happen automatically — it is built through intentional time together, through honest conversation, through shared meals and shared prayer, and through the kind of commitment that says, "You matter to me, and I am not going anywhere."

Reflecting Edmonton’s Diversity

Northeast Edmonton is one of the most diverse and rapidly growing parts of our city. Centrepointe is committed to being a congregation that reflects and welcomes that diversity — people from different backgrounds, different life stages, different histories, and different entry points to faith.

We do not require you to have all the answers before you can belong. We do not expect perfection. We simply ask that you come with honesty and a willingness to engage with the Gospel alongside us.

Whether you are a lifelong churchgoer, someone returning to faith after years away, or someone who is curious but cautious — you are welcome at Centrepointe. We mean that sincerely, and we work hard to make it true in practice.

How We Do Life Together

Community at Centrepointe is woven through the week — not just contained to Sunday mornings.

Fellowship Meals

Shared meals after Sunday services and at special events throughout the year create natural, relaxed spaces for people to connect. Food has always been central to Christian community — and we take it seriously.

Pastoral Care

Our pastoral team is committed to caring for the congregation in times of difficulty — illness, grief, crisis, and life transition. No one should walk through hard seasons alone, and Centrepointe takes this call to care seriously.

Celebrations

We celebrate together — baptisms, professions of faith, weddings, graduations, and the many ordinary milestones of life. A congregation that celebrates together is one that is truly invested in each other's flourishing.

Mutual Support

When members face hardship, the congregation responds. Whether it is practical help, a meal, or simply presence — we are committed to bearing one another's burdens as the Scriptures call us to do.

Intergenerational Life

One of our great strengths is the genuine relationship between different generations. Children, teenagers, young adults, middle-aged families, and seniors all share in the same congregation — learning from each other and building something together.

Neighbourhood Presence

Community at Centrepointe extends beyond our building. We are neighbours — on 159 Ave NW and throughout northeast Edmonton — and we aim to be a congregation known for its positive, caring presence in the local area.

Rooted in Northeast Edmonton

The communities of northeast Edmonton have grown remarkably over the past two decades. New families, new schools, new businesses, and new neighbours have made this one of Edmonton's most dynamic areas. Centrepointe is part of this neighbourhood — not just located here, but invested in it.

We see the growth of northeast Edmonton as an opportunity: to be a stable, welcoming presence as new families seek community; to serve neighbours who are far from their original homes and faith traditions; and to be a congregation that reflects the character of this diverse and growing part of the city.

We love our neighbourhood — and we are here to stay.
